New Harry Potter film postponed
The next Harry Potter film has been delayed until next summer, leaving a number of planned tie-in books stranded.
Warner Brothers studios said it is bumping "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" from its planned opening in November to next July, reports the Daily Telegraph. The sixth Harry Potter adaptation will now open on 17th July 2009.
Alan Horn, Warner Bros president and chief operating officer said the move to take advantage of an open weekend in Hollywood's busy summer season. He added: "The picture is completely, absolutely, 100 per cent on schedule, on time. There were no delays. "I've seen the movie. It is fabulous. We would have been perfectly able to have it out in November."
The film was due to be released in the UK on 21st November, accompanied by a raft of film tie-in books from Dorling Kindersley, Penguin, among others, all due in September/October.
