Manchester lines up high-profile writers

Neil Gaiman, DBC Pierre and Colm Tóibín are among the writers taking part in the autumn events programme of Manchester’s Centre for New Writing, with Martin Amis also hosting two events during the season.
Events lined up in the centre's Literature Live series include an evening with Andrew O'Hagan and Tóibín on 13th October, Gaiman on 29th October, Jenny Diski on 10th November and Pierre on 15th December.
In addition Amis will host two events in his capacity as professor of creative writing at the centre: A night devoted to Philip Larkin on 2nd October with poets James Fenton and John McAuliffe and an event exploring the relationship between literature and science on 1st December.
