Search begins for Reed boss
Reed Elsevier, the Anglo-Dutch publisher, has started its search for a successor to long-serving chief executive Sir Crispin Davis, who is likely to retire next year, reports the Telegraph. No firm date has yet been set for Davis' retirement, although it is expected to happen around the middle of next year.
Reed declined to give any details about the intended departure date or the succession plan, but issued a statement, which read: "The board is determined to ensure a smooth and professional succession as and when the time comes." The internal contenders for the job include Mark Armour, chief financial officer, and Erik Engstrom, chief executive of Reed's science and medical division.
