DK author inspires TV double
03.07.08 Anna Richardson
Dorling Kindersley has teamed up with production company Reef Television to produce two series with author, architect and artist Ptolemy Dean for broadcaster Five.
The first, provisionally titled “Picture Perfect Home”, will be a series of 10-minute shorts inspired by Dean’s spring 2008 title, Britain’s Buildings, Places & Spaces. In each show, the presenter searches for Britain’s finest period homes and explores their settings. It will air later this summer.
The second series, “Last Chance to View” (working title), is set for a primetime slot in the autumn. Each of the five episodes will follow Dean as he paints and sketches buildings that he thinks are national treasures but are under threat from developers, neglect or coastal erosion.
Britain’s Buildings, Places & Spaces was published by DK in March and is a celebration of Britain’s architectural heritage.
