Pullman takes on Writer's Table
02.07.08 Graeme Neill
Philip Pullman will choose 40 of his favourite books as part of Waterstone's Writer's Table promotion this autumn.
The selection of books, which is still to be revealed, will go into Waterstone's stores and its website from 4th September. Pullman's handwritten thoughts on why he chose each title will be displayed on the books. The promotion is Waterstone's second writer's table following Sebastian Faulk's selection in May.
Toby Bourne, head of fiction at Waterstone's, said that he was delighted at the response to the first writer's table promotion. "It was very much conceived to be a part of our Writer's Year, but good ideas shouldn't be bound by time limits and we're talking to writers and publishers about future tables beyond 2008," he said.
