Chicken House and The Times team up

Chicken House is launching a second competition for children’s writers in The Times on 12th July. Last year’s inaugural competition attracted 2,000 entries and the winning title, Reavers’ Ransom by Emily Diamand, will be launched at the Cheltenham Festival on 11th October.
Entries for this year's competition must be received by 13th October, and the shortlist will be announced in February 2009. The judging panel will be chaired by Barry Cunningham and includes author David Almond, consultant Wendy Cooling and Nyree Jillings from Waterstone's.
