Dohle addresses staff
New Random House c.e.o. Markus Dohle has told staff that this is a "challenging but also a great time" for all to be in the trade book business, and that he will continue to support the "independence of our publishers worldwide".
In his first open letter to Random House staff, published at Publishers Weekly, Dohle shared his impressions of Book Expo America, and his eagerness to become "a real New Yorker".
Referring to the "challenging times ahead", he added: "We have to adapt to and take advantage of them better than anyone else in book publishing. Finding solutions to these challenges will require a companywide team approach which I am excited to lead and to be a part of."
Dohle also thanked Peter Olson for "his outstanding leadership".
