Play.com revamps website
20.05.08 Graeme Neill
Online retailer Play.com has relaunched its website, with the redesign aiming to offer clearer navigation and improve shopping at the site.
The redesign was six months in the making and the site now has moved the shopping basket icon to the top right of the browsing window and made the search bar more central.
Play said that the new look site was the “first phase” of a modernisation programme.
“As with all technology it is important to innovate and modernise,” said chief operating officer Stuart Rowe. “The previous site served us well but it was felt both internally and externally that the design was starting to look dated but more importantly, as our product lines continued to grow, the customer experience was becoming more complicated.
“Search and navigation are essential in ensuring customer satisfaction and we have been able to ensure we are ahead of the game with the best functionality in the market. Even the choice of colour pallet and font used is important in making the customer experience enjoyable.”
