Rosen: Potter is 'boring'
Michael Rosen finds J K Rowling's series of Harry Potter books "boring" and inappropriate, reports the Daily Telegraph. Speaking during a tour of Scotland to promote reading at school, the Children's Laureate said he would not read the books to his own children because he did not want to "bore" them.
"They don't grab me personally," he said, and the narratives were too complex and challenging and that most young children would be confused by their sinister themes. "I am distant from them whereas I read some kids' books and I get quite drawn in emotionally to them," he added.

I agree! The films are even worse. I don't think they will have Roald Dahl's staying power in years to come. Regards Baz19 May 08 11:32

Well I am sure Jo Rowling will be really really upset. But the zillions of children - and adults - who have found the books very far from'boring' will probably go some way towards cheering her up.19 May 08 14:18
