BookRabbit strikes deal with ICUE
16.05.08 Anna Richardson
BookRabbit.com, the new online bookshop and networking site, has signed a deal with ICUE to be the sole purchasing partner for the mobile services provider's "first chapter previews".
The previews service can send chapter samplers to the mobile phones of customers interacting with book advertising posters. Publishers can display a phrase, keyword and code on their advertising, which customers can use to receive a free chapter on their phone, which also allows them to link to BookRabbit to buy the book.
ICUE's system allows users to pause, rewind or fast forward, either one word at a time, by sentence, paragraph or chapter. If the reader stops reading, it bookmarks the position, and will resume in the same place when the application and book are re-opened.
Kieron Smith, BookRabbit m.d., said: "I'm extremely pleased that ICUE and BookRabbit can work together on this project. We believe BookRabbit customers enjoy unearthing fantastic reads wherever they find them, and if we can help them find one and buy it whilst they're waiting for the bus, then that's great."
