Top Gear turns to children
"Top Gear" is targeting children and families with a range of new titles this summer tying in to a new series. The books, published by BBC Children's Books and Dorling Kindersley, will include a sticker activity book, a poster book, a Funfax and four factual guides to the show.
Adam Waddell, m.d. of Top Gear at BBC Worldwide, said: "Top Gear has developed a huge following amongst young car-mad lads but until recently most Top Gear products have been targeted at adults. So we're delighted to be creating new content specifically for younger fans of the show who love the cheekiness and irreverence of the brand."
The children's launch will coincide with a new series of "Top Gear in July", and will be followed later in the year by an annual, model making kit, mini sticker book and quiz book.
"Top Gear", which regularly attracts 8.6m viewers, has previously announced a publishing programme for adults, with BBC Books to launch a range of official "Top Gear" titles over the next three years, including Top Gear Top Drives for Father's Day 2008, and The Big Book of Top Gear 2009 in October.
