Transworld backs another first novel award
Transworld and the Daily Mail have confirmed that they will award a second First Novel prize, with the publisher stumping up another £30,000 advance for the eventual winner.
The newspaper called for entries for the new prize, with a deadline of 2nd July, as it reviewed the publication of last year's winner, A Dark Enchantment by Roland Vernon (Black Swan), which was chosen from more than 800 entries.
Candidates will have to submit a complete work in English of not less than 80,000 words, as well as a synopsis. The winning work will be published in Spring 2009.
