Serial move for Cornwell
16.04.08 Alison Flood
The Times is to serialise Patricia Cornwell's latest novel The Front in its entirety prior to UK publication. The 208 page book will be published in 10 daily instalments in The Times, starting on 21st April. Little Brown publishes The Front on 15th May.
"We serialise books on a regular basis," said Keith Blackmore, deputy editor of The Times, "but this is the first time that we have published a whole book in its entirety. By dividing The Front into 10 parts we are giving readers absorbable, daily sections. This evokes a long-standing tradition in British publishing where the classics of Dickens, Trollope and others first appeared by instalment in the popular press."
