Women in publishing shortlist revealed

Agent Clare Alexander, Viking's Eleo Gordon, Egmont's Alison Kennedy and Jessica Kingsley are this year's selection for Booktrust's Kim Scott Walwyn Prize.

The £3,000 prize honours outstanding achievements by women in publishing, and the shortlist was drawn up by a prize committee which comprises Catherine Clarke, literary agent at Felicity Byran Agency, Denise Johnstone-Burt, publisher at Walker Books, Fiona Maddocks, chief arts feature editor at Evening Standard, former OUP marketing director Kate Jury and writer Hermione Lee.

This year's winner is announced on 8th May, while previous winners include Lynette Owen (2004), copyright director of Pearson Education, Penelope Hoare (2005), deputy publishing director at Chatto and Annette Thomas (2007), c.e.o. of Macmillan.
