08.04.08 Alison Flood
I B Tauris has acquired a new biography of the Dalai Lama and will rush it out to coincide with his visit to the UK in May. The book, based on hours of interviews with the Dalai Lama, will include new information on the situation in Tibet.
I B Tauris acquired UK and Commonwealth rights in Dalai Lama: The Revealing Life Story and his Struggle for Tibet by journalist Mayank Chhaya from Mary Clemmey acting on behalf of Lynn C Franklin Associates in New York.
Alex Wright, commissioning editor, said: "With its exclusive interviews and many new insights, we're thrilled to be publishing the first book to unlock the secrets of both the man himself and the fevered politics of that tinderbox region." I B Tauris will publish in April.
