Julie Andrews moves to Hachette Group USA
Julie Andrews is moving to Little, Brown in the US with her Julie Andrews Collection of books. She will publish her forthcoming books under Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, a division of Hachette Book Group USA, overseen by editorial director Liza Baker.
Co-authored by her daughter Emma Walton Hamilton, each book in the new publishing programme will be an illustrated "event book". It is due to launch in autumn 2009 with Julie Andrews' Collection of Favourite Poems, Songs and Lullabies.
"Julie Andrews has a remarkable track record of providing enduring, high-quality entertainment for children and their families for over 35 years in a variety of mediums-stage, screen, recordings, and books," commented David Young, chairman and chief executive of Hachette Group USA. "We are honored to have both the standard of excellence and creativity of Julie and Emma behind this venture, and we look forward to publishing them with great enthusiasm."
