Steel brings children's book to HC

HarperCollins Publishers in the US will publish a children's picture book by Danielle Steel. The publisher has acquired world rights to The Happiest Hippo in the World, which tells the story of a baby hippo who is born green instead of grey. It is expected to be published in Autumn 2009.
Kate Jackson, SVP/associate publisher and Editor-in-Chief of HarperCollins Children's Books negotiated the deal with with agent Kate Schafter of Janklow & Nesbit Associates.
"We are delighted to welcome Danielle Steel to our list," said Kate Jackson. "She is a wonderful author and we know that this charming project will be embraced by young readers all over the world."
