Booksellers targeted by Ghana scam

An email scammer from Ghana has been fraudulently obtaining medical textbooks from a number of UK booksellers, posing as a member of Newcastle University's Robinson Library.
The man, who claims to be Mark Donald from the library, has used stolen credit cards to purchase the books, then has them shipped to an address in Accra, Ghana. The library knows of 17 companies that have been approached with five booksellers supplying books.
Jill Taylor-Roe, head of liaison and academic services at the library, said: "He seems to be focusing on small independents and we would like to raise awareness of his activities." She said that no-one called Mark Donald worked at the library.
