Author asks Amazon to stop selling his book

An author has asked Amazon.co.uk to stop stocking his book after the retailer subjected it to "mad" discounting. How to Market Your Business by Dave Patton (Kogan Page) was published on 3rd March and sells on the site for £8.57, discounted from its r.r.p. of £12.99.
Patton said: "If they’d read my book, they would know that you only discount to shift unsold volumes not new editions—this is the sixth —and certainly not on publication date. With a cover price of £12.99 they are selling it at just £8.57, so they’re giving away more than £4 a book. It’s madness."
Amazon declined to comment.
