DK gets mobile

Dorling Kindersley has joined forces with mobile software provider Mobile Systems to make some of its travel guides available as mobile phone and handheld downloads.
Ten of the DK Eyewitness Top 10 travel guides will initially be available, including Barcelona, London, Paris. Rome, New York, Amsterdam and Las Vegas.
The first platform the guides will be downloadable to is the Symbian S60. This will shortly be followed by Windows Mobile Pocket PC, SmartPhone, Blackberry, UIQ, Palm OS and Java. Users will be able to purchase and download information at www.mobisystems.com.
Liz Statham, marketing and PR director at DK Travel, said: “Travel is constantly on the move and today’s travellers wants to be able to access travel information however and wherever they want. We are delighted that trusted DK Travel content will now be available to millions of mobile phone
users.”
