Promotions at Little, Brown commercial lists
04.03.08 Hannah Davies
David Shelley has been promoted to publisher of Sphere, as part of Little, Brown's plans to expand its commercial publishing division. He is taking on the new role in addition to his digital responsibilities as joint publisher of Hachette Digital with George Walkley. He will also join the Little, Brown board. Shelley has been at the company for three years and was formerly paperback publisher for Sphere. He will report to c.e.o. Ursula Mackenzie.
Meanwhile Little, Brown's Antonia Hodgson, publisher of the commercial division, is consolidating the Piatkus and Sphere commercial women's fiction lists.
Joanne Dickinson, who has been at Little, Brown for 10 years, has been promoted to manage both lists as publisher of commercial women's fiction, reporting to Hodgson. She was previously publishing director for Sphere's commercial women's fiction. In Dickinson's new role, Piatkus fiction senior editor Emma Dunford and assistant editor Donna Condon will report to her.
Hodgson said of the changes: "We have lots of exciting plans for the commercial division and both David and Jo will play hugely important roles. I’m delighted for both of them and look forward to working closely with them to ensure both Sphere and Piatkus go from strength to strength."
