Amazon's O'Keeffe joins The Bookseller

Alice O'Keeffe of Amazon is to join The Bookseller as books editor. She succeeds Benedicte Page, who is moving across to the magazine's news desk as a reporter.

O'Keeffe is books account manager at Amazon.co.uk. She has been at Amazon since 2005, managing relationships with publishers. Before that she was a senior fiction buyer at BCA. She is already a contributor to the the magazine's monthly "Bookseller's Choice" column.

Neill Denny, Editor-in-Chief of The Bookseller, said: "There was intense competition for this job, but we felt that Alice's commercial eye and buying track record was perfect for what that the role has to deliver to the readers. She also has a high industry profile and a great reputation as a selector and negotiator."

The books editor role covers all the magazine's new title, category and paperback previews, as well as commissioning weekly author interviews. O'Keeffe will report to deputy editor Joel Rickett, and will take up the role on 10th March.
