Cycle travel memoir to Collins

Collins commissioning editor Claire Kingston has acquired world rights in travel memoir The Hungry Cyclist by Tom Kevill Davies. The book is the story of Kevill Davies' two-and-a-half year trip around the Americas by bike.
The agent was Elly James of hhb agency, and the book is due in May 2009 in paperback.
Kingston said: "We are delighted to add Tom to our growing list of memoirs. Tom's story is the perfect combination of travel adventure and culturalreportage. Like Bill Bryson on a bicycle, he uncovers the essence of the Americas in a fantastically fresh and appealing way."
