PFD tribunal reaches court

A claim brought by agent Duncan Hayes against his former employers Peters, Fraser & Dunlop (PFD) reached an employment tribunal this week. At the central London court, the judge heard details of Hayes' departure from PFD to join the breakaway group United Agents. Both sides are now awaiting judgement.

Other cases are expected to follow as the bitter and long-running saga reaches its final stages. The progress of PFD parent group CSS Stellar's promised legal action-against the 11 agents who were fired last October for gross misconduct-is unknown.

Hayes is a prominent television industry specialist, representing writers and performers and specialising in comedy. He is now running United Agents' film and television division alongside Natasha Galloway.

According to its website, PFD now comprises 15 agents, including c.e.o. Caroline Michel, Michael Sissons and new joiner Suzy Jenvey. Pat Kavanagh is still in place but is believed to be poised to leave for the 30-strong United Agents, where the books side is led by Caroline Dawnay and Simon Trewin.

Neither United Agents, PFD or parent group CSS Stellar would make any comments on the Hayes case before this story went to press.
