18.02.08 Tom Tivnan
Ayrshire-based local history specialist Stenlake Publishing has acquired fellow Scottish independent Alloway Publishing. The deal for Alloway, which specialises in books on Robert Burns and titles on the South West of Scotland, was done for £65,000.
Alloway was founded in 1982 and has a backlist of about 50 titles. In addition to English, Irish, Welsh and Scottish local history books, Stenlake publishes transportation, football titles and books on mining. M.d. Richard Stenlake said: "We have a focus on transport and industrial local history. Alloway will help expand our business and give us a little bit more depth."
