Kate Jones: 'one of the brightest and best'
The national newspapers are running obituaries of Kate Jones, the London literary agent who died last Friday aged 46. In the Independent, Profile Books managing director Andrew Franklin pens a glittering tribute, describing Jones as "one of the most brilliant literary agents of her generation", who was "at the peak of her powers and changing the character of agenting in London—by sheer force and warmth of her personality."
In the Guardian, Robert McCrum says she was "one of the brightest and best in the British book world: a rare and gifted reader, a dedicated and inspiring editor, and an exceptional publisher."
Hilary Hale has written Jones' obituary for The Bookseller, to be published tomorrow.
