Mitchell and Webb in comedy book deal
24.01.08 Anna Richardson
David Mitchell and Robert Webb, the stars of Channel 4 comedy "Peep Show", have signed a two-book deal with Fourth Estate. The first book—provisionally titled The Ways of Mitchell and Webb—will be published for Christmas 2009. It will be “a lavish, fully-illustrated volume running to several hundred pages”, according to the publisher. The second will follow in Christmas 2010.
John Elliott, Fourth Estate popular culture editor, who bought the books from literary agent Ivan Mulcahy, said: "It will be a lot of fun working with David and Rob, and their books will be comedy classics—like everything they do."
Mitchell said: "We're confident that, through this book, we can make Christmas 2009 the funniest in two millennia (barring tragic natural disasters)."
The pair have been commissioned for a fifth series of "Peep Show", and are due to film the third series of BBC show "That Mitchell and Webb Look".
