Moir leaves Penguin
Judy Moir, editor at Penguin in Scotland, is leaving the company at the end of January. Moir joined Penguin in 2004 from her position as Canongate editorial director, with the brief to acquire and publish books by Scottish authors for the market in Scotland and internationally.
During her time at Penguin, Moir has worked with authors including Rosemary Goring and James Robertson, whose The Testament of Gideon Mack was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Prize, longlisted for the Booker Prize and selected for the Richard and Judy Bookclub.
Tom Weldon, m.d. of Penguin General, said: "Judy has a terrific editorial eye and an unrivaled network of contacts in Scotland. We are very grateful to her for bringing some wonderful new Scottish writers to Penguin's publishing lists over the last four years and we wish her every success with her future plans."
