Internet shopping comes of age
Internet shopping came of age in 2007 with 15% of UK consumers making their retail purchases online, reports the Telegraph. Nearly one pound in every seven spent on consumer goods in 2007 was spent over the internet, a jump of more than 50% since 2006, new figures reveal.
Internet sales in 2007 were £46.6bn, up from the £30.2bn in 2006. This equates to 15% of UK consumers' total retail spend, according to a survey by Capgemini, the consultants, and the IMRG, the online retailers' industry body.
