Scardino in Times' Power 100

Pearson chief executive Dame Marjorie Scardino is among the Times newspaper's Power 100, the annual list of men and women who hold sway over British business.

The survey, the first two parts of which were published yesterday (7th January), has evolved from considering only directors of FTSE 100 companies to also looking beyond quoted companies, at the role of private equity, the influence of government and "people outside the boardroom".

Featuring at 89, Scardino is described as "one of the longest-serving FTSE 100 chief executives, male or female, having guided Pearson, the educational publisher that also owns Penguin books and the Financial Times, since 1997".
