Alliott moves to Penguin
04.01.08 Alison Flood
Catherine Alliott is moving to Penguin after 13 years with Headline. Michael Joseph m.d. Louise Moore bought UK and Commonwealth rights including Canada in two books by the women’s fiction author, who has been with Headline since her first book, The Old-Girl Network, was published in 1994. Alliott’s agent is Jonathan Lloyd at Curtis Brown.
Moore will publish The Secret Life of Evie Hamilton—about a wife and mother whose life is up-ended by a mysterious letter—in early spring 2009. She said: "This is such a fantastic opportunity for us. Catherine has a genuine fanbase at Penguin, and we are delighted to welcome her to the list. She is already a massive seller, but we aim to put all our Penguin muscle and creativity behind her to grow her even further, in hardback and in paperback."
Alliott added: "After many happy years at Headline, I felt it was time for a change and I am very excited to be working with the fiction team at Michael Joseph."
