Brits get Globes nod

"Atonement" has received the most Golden Globe nominations, with other literary adaptations also featuring strongly.
The big screen version of Ian McEwan's novel (Vintage) has secured seven nominations, including one for star Keira Knightley in the best actress category. "No Country for Old Men", based on Cormac McCarthy's book received four nominations; "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford", from Ron Hansen's book (Souvenir), "A Mighty Heart", based on Marianne Pearl's memoirs (Virago), and "Love in the Time of Cholera" each received one.
British TV talent also featured: BBC1's "Five Days", Channel 4's "Longford", and BBC1's "The State Within" are all up for the TV mini-series or movie award, and Ricky Gervais is nominated in two categories for "Extras". Winners will be announced on 13th January.
