Gollancz on supernatural crime spree
Jo Fletcher at Gollancz has paid a "decent" five-figure sum for world rights in three supernatural thrillers by debut novelist Suzanne MacLeod. The deal was struck with John Jarrold.
McLeod's novel sequence centres on Genevieve Taylor, who lives in a London "where celebrity vampires, eccentric goblins and scheming lesser fae mix freely with the human population". She is a rising star at Spellcrackers.com, where she seeks out supernatural crime, and also works as a volunteer at a clinic which treats victims of vampire attacks.
Jarrold said: "It was obvious from the first page that Suzanne has a great voice and a talent for story-telling. Her writing is endlessly inventive, witty and very sexy."
