Non-fiction acquisitions for S&S
Simon & Schuster has bolstered its presence in serious non-fiction with the acquisition of two new titles by heavyweight authors.
Don’t Let’s Go to the Dogs Tonight author Alexandra Fuller’s The Legend of Colton H Bryant is the story of a boy and his life on the Wyoming oil rigs. Fuller was previously published by Picador. Ian Chapman and Suzanne Baboneau bought UK and Commonwealth rights from Deborah Rogers of RCW acting for Melanie Jackson, and will publish in June 2008.
Nicholson Baker’s new non-fiction “magnum opus” Human Smoke is “a meticulously researched and revelatory perspective” on the years before the Second World War. Baker was previously published in the UK by Granta and Chatto; Chapman bought UK and Commonwealth rights from Rogers acting for Jackson, and will publish in May 2008.
