Trollope chairs Costa judges
10.12.07 Alison Flood
Joanna Trollope will head the judging panel for the 2007 Costa Book of the Year. She will be joined by fellow judges musician, writer and farmer Alex James, GQ editor Dylan Jones, actress and writer Helen Lederer and BBC news presenter Emily Maitlis.
The other four category judging panels will be represented by authors Polly Samson (Novel), David Almond (Children's Book Award), Vicki Feaver (Poetry) and Danny Danziger (Biography).
Trollope said she was "thrilled and honoured" to be chairing the panel. "This prize has always been my favourite by a very long way, because it's about the sheer-and vital-pleasure of reading, rather than anything more arcane," she said. The awards ceremony will take place on 22nd January where the winner will be announced.
