Eyes on HMV update
All eyes will be on beleaguered music chain HMV when it reveals its half-year results on Wednesday, reports the Scotsman. The group said in September it was entering the key Christmas trading period in "good operational shape", having overhauled its strategy and store format.
The Waterstone's owner will also be in the spotlight as a gauge of the festive season to come - when retailers will be watched to see if last week's drop in interest rates might have a beneficial effect on trading.
