First fiction deal for United Agents
06.12.07 Alison Flood
United Agents, the group of agents fired from PFD in October, has made its first fiction deal. Robert Kirby sold world rights in two new titles by historical novelist Christie Dickason to HarperCollins editorial director Susan Opie.
"I'm delighted that the agency is up and running to make this, our first fiction deal, for this very exciting novelist," said Kirby.
The first new book will see Dickason exploring the Jacobean era and the life of Princess Elizabeth, daughter of James I. She is also the author of The Firemaster's Mistress and the recently published The Principessa. The first book in the new deal will be published in the second half of 2009.
