Sutton chops off Jarrold arm
03.12.07 Tom Tivnan
Alan Sutton's troubled NPI Media Group has sold the Jarrold contract publishing business to Heritage House, the recently formed professional publisher for the heritage market. The move comes just eight months after NPI bought the company.
The deal, brokered by Bertoli Mitchell, makes Heritage House Group (HHG) the UK's largest specialist contract publisher to the heritage market.
Founded in September 2007, HHG has already merged the business of Hudson's Historic Houses and Gardens with the simultaneously acquired Heritage House stately homes Guidebook and Souvenirs divisions. It is funded by IBIS Media, Foresight Group and Neptune Calculus and is currently in talks with a number of further acquisition targets, all within the heritage sector.
Jarrold produces guides to more than 250 of the UK's foremost visitor attractions including Sandringham, Blenheim Palace and St Paul's Cathedral in addition to many of the more recent attractions such as Bristol Zoo and Blair Drummond Safari Park.
