Michel Thomas goes digital

Audible has signed an exclusive two-year deal with Hodder Education to provide downloads of the bestselling Michel Thomas Method language tuition products. As part of the deal, Audible has developed a new co-branded website (www.audible.co.uk/michelthomas), which hosts all 26 titles in the Michel Thomas range. Courses range from introductory French and Spanish to foundation Arabic, Russian and Mandarin Chinese, with prices ranging from £10.49 to £69.49.

Cathy Frazer, head of marketing and PR at Hodder Education, said: "This great new site makes learning a new language easy and accessible for today's on the go generation."

Thomas, who died in 2005, developed his "no books" language tuition programme over 50 years. Users of the courses learn through listening and speaking with no writing required.

Chris McKee, m.d. of Audible.co.uk, said: "The Michel Thomas Method is all about learning at your own pace, something that is ideally suited to the world of Audible downloads—listeners can now take their lessons anywhere, while they commute, work out at the gym or even while walking the dog."

The deal marks an extension of Audible's relationship with Hodder Education, which began last year; Hodder Education's Teach Yourself . . . language series is also available for download at Audible.co.uk.
