EUK buyer joins HarperCollins

Entertainment UK book buyer Claire Power is to join HarperCollins as special projects manager from 26th November. She will cover Avon managing director and former Tesco book buyer Caroline Ridding, who is leaving the new commercial fiction division of HarperCollins in November to go on maternity leave. She will return in 2008.
Power will work alongside Avon editorial director Maxine Hitchock. Avon has also appointed Sammia Rafique as editorial and sales assistant. Rafique joins HC from an Art Council traineeship.
