Penguin pays damages over Lebrecht book
23.10.07 Alison Flood
Penguin has paid damages and withdrawn music critic Norman Lebrecht's latest book from sale following legal action from Naxos founder Klaus Heymann, who sued the publisher over Lebrecht's Maestros, Masterpieces & Madness: The Secret Life and Shameful Death of the Classical Record Industry.
A spokesperson for the publisher said: "The claim was settled [last week] without any admission of liability on our part." The paperback of the book is still due next spring, and Penguin said it will
include a "small number of agreed upon changes".
The book remains on sale in the US, where it is published by Random House division Anchor Books.
