Daily Mail debut writers shortlist
The shortlist for the Daily Mail/Transworld First Novel competition has been announced. Following the launch of the nationwide competition in march, 820 novels were sent in by budding writers of which six have been shortlisted.
The judges are in the process of selecting the winner of the competition. The winner, who will be announced at the end of October will receive a £30,000 publishing contract with Transworld, to be published by Bantam in April next year.
The judging panel includes bestselling Transworld authors Joanne Harris and Lee Child, Transworld senior publishing director Francesca Liversidge, Daily Mail literary editor Jane Mays and Benedicte Page, book news editor at The Bookseller.
The shortlisted authors and novels are:
Luminous Virgin Mary by Giuseppe Argenio
Living In Perhaps by Julia Widdows
Anouk’s Eyebrow by Sandra Rigby
A Hundred Million Corpses by Max Adams
Lemonade by Emma Louise Oram
A Dark Enchantment by Roland Vernon
