New Borders in Cardiff
26.09.07 Tom Tivnan
Borders is opening a new 25,000 square foot superstore in Cardiff city centre on Friday (28th September). The shop will have Cardiff’s largest children’s section, a strong focus on Wales and Welsh authors and signage in both English and Welsh.
The grand opening weekend includes appearances by rugby legend Phil Bennett, Welsh minster for heritage Rhodri Morgan and Cardiff singer-songwriter Martyn Joseph.
Philip Downer, Borders UK and Ireland retail director, said: "Cardiff is a landmark store for Borders UK—it’s our first store under new ownership, but more importantly, it’s a flagship store, in a beautiful historic building, in the capital of Wales—an exciting, growing city."
