Twenty in running for indie book of the year
The Booksellers Association has announced the shortlist for its inaugural Independent Booksellers' Book of the Year award. Ten adult books and ten children’s titles were selected by independent BA members from a longlist based on sales figures from indies.
Indies and their customers will be able to vote on their favourite adult and children's title from 10th October to 10th December, with votes to be made via email, special voting postcards, forms in the BA’s Christmas Catalogue and wholesalers’ catalogues. The winner will be announced in late December.
The adult books are:

The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins (Transworld)

On Chesil Beach by Ian McEwan (Random House)
Amo, Amas, Amat... and All That by Harry Mount (Short Books)
Suite Francaise by Irene Nemirovsky (Random House)
The Tenderness of Wolves by Stef Penney (Quercus)
The Cloudspotter’s Guide by Gavin Pretor-Pinney (Hodder)
The children’s books are:
