Random stalls on Rooney book
Random House is reported to have pulled an unauthorised biography of Wayne Rooney--Roo Unzipped--after facing protests from the England footballer's lawyers. The book, written by John Sweeney, was scheduled for publication in August.
According to the Independent's gossip columnist Pandora, production of the book has been stopped; its release indefinitely postponed.
The piece reports: "Random House denies pulling publication for any 'legal reason', insisting: 'We just want to move it to a different slot in our schedule. We don't know when that will be yet but should do next week.' Every mention of the book has been excised from the company's website."
Sweeney the television reporter became known as the "exploding tomato" when his rant at a member of the Church of Scientology was posted on the internet.
