Bloomsbury in acquisition talks
Bloomsbury c.e.o. and chairman Nigel Newton tells the Guardian the publisher has an acquisition in the pipeline; "the target is "not vast", says Newton, but Bloomsbury is in exclusive talks with its would-be acquisition," according to the paper.
Newton also discusses the post-Harry Potter future for Bloomsbury. ""The real question is what is going to happen in 2008 and 2009 and why should shareholders feel reassured about their holdings. Well you ain't seen nothing yet," he says. "If you look at the list we have put together and the strategic decisions we have made for the business, you will see a very strong publishing group in action."
