Sales of Tintin book take off
Days after it was labelled "racist", a Tintin adventure book is flying off the shelves with sales soaring by almost 4,000%, reports the Scotsman.
The Belgian comic strip was condemned by Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) bosses, who called for it to be banned across the UK.
But despite the furore, it now appears as if the concerns are being ignored by the public who have been snapping up copies of the book. A spokesman for Amazon, the internet bookstore, revealed the title had gone straight into their top 10 list at number eight.
