Campbell had serialisation discussions
Alastair Campbell was engaged in lengthy negotiations to have his diaries serialised in The Times, reports the Telegraph. Campbell, whose diaries are published today by Random House, has said that he decided against cashing in by serialising his diaries in a newspaper.
The Telegraph however reports that there were lengthy negotiations between Campbell, Ed Victor, the literary agent, and News International, which owns The Sunday Times. A publishing source tells the newspaper: "News International wanted to time the serialisation at the time of the Blair and Brown handover." But the timing reportedly made Campbell very uneasy.
