Teenage kicks from Headline
Headline is launching a teen list in September with two series from New York Times bestseller Cecily Von Ziegesar. The list kicks off with the first title in Von Ziegesar's It Girl series, The It Girl, in September.
Headline will follow this with two further It Girl titles, Notorious (November) and Reckless (January) and will launch the second series of Gossip Girl in May 2008, with a schedule running to October 2009. A Gossip Girl prequel will be published this October. Publisher Harriet Evans bought exclusive UK rights for the books from Stephanie Voros at Little, Brown US.
The new list will be backed by an intensive interactive marketing and publicity campaign, and Headline promises sophisticated packaging targeting older, aspiring teenagers.
Harriet Evans said that the books were "aspirational; they don't patronise teenagers, and behind the glitz and sassiness there's real heart and some good advice. We couldn't be more pleased to have acquired both series and look forward to an exciting future publishing these books and more."
