Amazon expands UK operations
Giant online retailer Amazon.com is creating 1,200 jobs with a major expansion of its UK operations, reports Ananova. Work on the sprawling site at Jersey Marine, on the outskirts of Swansea, south Wales, is set to begin next month.
Amazon said its giant warehouse complex in Swansea will begin operating in October and will cover the equivalent of 10 football fields. Bosses at the internet retailer expect the operation to be fully functional after five years. By then, up to 1,500 extra temporary jobs will also be created during the Christmas buying boom.
